Our Story

Glass Wing Mural Co. began with three friends, a shared love of art, and a belief that creativity has the power to bring people together.

Long before Glass Wing existed, we were artists learning from our community. We were guided by the generous Sonoma County artists who passed their knowledge, techniques, and passion on to us. Those experiences taught us that art is more than something you make. Glass Wing was born from a desire to carry that spirit forward.

As our friendship grew, so did our desire to create together. What started as conversations and shared projects evolved into a vision for something larger: a public arts organization dedicated to making art accessible, collaborative, and rooted in community.

Today, Glass Wing Mural Co. creates murals, public art installations, workshops, and community-centered creative experiences throughout the Bay Area. We believe art should be encountered in everyday life. Art belongs not only in galleries, but in parks, neighborhoods, gathering spaces, and the forgotten corners that deserve a second look.

At the heart of our work is participation. We invite people to engage with art not only as viewers, but as contributors. Whether someone picks up a paintbrush, shares a story, helps shape a design, or watches a mural come to life day by day, we believe the experience of making art can be just as meaningful as the finished piece itself.

Our work is rooted in the belief that beauty matters. Joy matters. Connection matters. A painted wall won't solve every problem, but it can make someone feel seen, spark a new sense of pride, or remind us that creativity lives all around us. By bringing color and care to overlooked surfaces, we hope to encourage people to see their surroundings,and one another,with fresh eyes.

At the end of the day, we're still three friends making art together—and we think that's a pretty wonderful place to start.

Meet the Glass Wing Girls

Elizabeth Zindler

Elizabeth Zindler is a Sonoma County artist who finds beauty in unconventional attractions. Her main focus is on painting, linoleum prints, ceramics, and sculpture. Elizabeth has been involved in community arts since 2019 by mentoring teen artists in the design and creation of murals and mosaics through a local nonprofit. Today, Elizabeth works as part of a creative duo with her friend and studio mate, Mary Christensen at their self-developed company, Flora Fauna Studios.

Elizabeth recieved her BFA in Studio Arts in 2026.

Kaya Rose

Kaya Rose is a muralist, painter, and youth arts educator based out of Sonoma County. After having her pursuit of a traditional arts training at Pratt Institute interrupted by a global pandemic, Rose was swept away into the world of public art and murals. Rose’s work with small communities thrives through collaboration and introspective of space. With the help of local artists and teens, Kaya Rose is helping to transform spaces into colorful works of art influenced by the people and energies that interact with them. Without fail these creations are lively, colorful, and seemingly simple until observed up close.

Mary Christensen

An emerging fine artist and muralist with a current focus in printmaking and murals. Mary also brings a love of mentoring teens through creating art and building a community of creatives. She has displayed this love of connecting youth and art through her work as an arts program coordinator for the Boys and Girls Club, and a lead artist at a non-profit creating murals with teens.

Mary recieved her BFA in Studio Arts in 2026.
